What Owner.com sells, its two printed plans and fees, who it suits, and five online ordering alternatives priced from their own sites.

Owner.com suits an independent restaurant that wants one company to build and run its website, online ordering, branded app and marketing. It costs $249 a month plus a 5% fee per order, or $499 a month flat. If you already run Toast, Square or Clover, price the ordering tools sold with your POS before you switch.

The choice matters because these products charge in different ways. Some take a flat monthly fee, some add a cut of each order, and some push a fee onto the guest. Owner's own Flexible plan costs less than its Flat Rate plan at $3,000 a month in online sales and more at $10,000. The table sets out what each company prints on its own site.

## What does Owner.com sell?

Owner.com sells a bundle for independent restaurants. Its [pricing page](https://www.owner.com/pricing) says both plans include an AI-built website, online ordering, a branded mobile app, SEO pages, loyalty, email and text campaigns, catering orders, setup and migration, chargeback protection and 24/7 support. Owner's own menu also lists a point of sale, a waitlist, a kitchen tablet and AI phone ordering.

Orders reach the kitchen through your POS. Owner's [POS integrations page](https://www.owner.com/pos-integrations) says it has a native Clover integration and connects to Toast, Square, Lightspeed and more, at no extra fee. It can also supply a tablet or printer. Owner says many restaurants launch within a week, and there is no long-term contract.

## How much does Owner.com cost?

Owner prints two plans in US dollars. Flexible is $249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee per order. Flat Rate is $499 a month with no restaurant fee, which Owner says is best for restaurants at $5k+ a month in online sales. On both plans, guests pay a 5% order support fee. Owner's page does not list card processing, so ask for it in writing.

The two plans cost the same at $5,000 a month in online sales, because 5% of $5,000 is the $250 gap between them. Here is a worked example. The inputs are assumptions: $8,000 a month in online sales from 320 orders of $25.

Plan Printed fees at $8,000 a month What the sum leaves out
Owner Flexible $249 + 5% of $8,000 ($400) = $649 Card processing; guests also pay $400 in order support fees
Owner Flat Rate $499 subscription only Card processing; guests pay the same $400 support fee
Menufy month-to-month $179 subscription only Card processing is not on its pricing page
  Square Free $0 + 3.3% of $8,000 ($264) + 30¢ × 320 ($96) = $360 Includes online card processing; a Square POS is assumed

These totals are not like for like. Square's includes card fees and the Owner and Menufy figures do not, and the packages include different work. Use the table to see which questions to ask.

## How should you read Owner.com reviews?

Owner's pages show a 4.8 rating across 1,000+ reviews and case studies with sales figures from named restaurants. Those are Owner's own selections. Its CEO also writes on the pricing page that choosing Owner means giving up some control over how your site looks. If a custom design matters to you, weigh that.

1. Ask for two reference restaurants with your cuisine, order volume and POS.
2. Ask what happens to your domain, menu, customer list and app if you cancel.
3. Ask whether the 5% guest fee shows on the receipt, and check how it looks next to your in-store prices.
4. Ask for the card processing rate and any delivery charges in writing.
5. Compare the same month of online sales across two or three vendors using your own order count.

## Which Owner.com alternative fits your restaurant?

Start with your POS. [Toast Online Ordering](https://pos.toasttab.com/products/online-ordering) is built for Toast restaurants and Toast calls it commission-free. [Square's online ordering profile](https://squareup.com/us/en/online-ordering) works with any Square plan, including the free one. [BentoBox](https://www.getbento.com/) now sells only to Clover POS customers. If you have not chosen a POS yet, our [Toast vs Square comparison](https://maple.inc/blog/toast-vs-square) sets out their plans.

If you want a separate ordering company, [Menufy](https://restaurant.menufy.com/pricing) prints one flat fee with no per-order commission, and [ChowNow](https://get.chownow.com/pricing/) adds a diner marketplace and a discovery network. Owner fits if you want one company to handle the website, app and marketing and your online sales can carry the fee.

## Where do phone orders fit?

A website vendor handles web and app orders, and calls come in on a separate channel. Owner lists AI phone ordering among its products, so ask how it prices that. If you keep any of these ordering tools and want phone orders in the same POS, [Maple Pro](https://maple.inc/pricing) takes phone orders into supported systems on its [integrations list](https://maple.inc/integrations), such as Toast, Square and Clover.
