Every fee Revel's help center prints, the statement fees it names without a price, its public terms, and a worked month with labeled assumptions.

Revel prints no price for its POS subscription, hardware or card processing. Its help center says every merchant gets an offer tailored to its business, so those lines come from a quote. It does print a few fees: $20 a month per location for DoorDash Marketplace, $29 a month per location for multi-location management, $2.00 per batch for next-day funding, and monthly penalties of $74.95 for missing PCI validation and $79 for running an old app version.

This page lists those fees, the statement fees Revel names without a price, the terms its help center describes, and a month worked through with labeled assumptions. Shift4 completed its purchase of Revel in June 2024, according to Shift4's [press release](https://investors.shift4.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/221/shift4-acquires-majority-stake-of-german-point-of-sale-company-vectron-systems-ag-and-completes-previously-announced-acquisition-of-revel-systems), and revelsystems.com now forwards to Shift4's food and beverage page. Ask which company will sign your agreement. Shift4's other restaurant POS, SkyTab (now Shift4 Dine), has its own fee list in our [SkyTab pricing guide](https://maple.inc/blog/skytab-pos-pricing).

## Which Revel fees does the help center print?

Each price below comes from a public Revel help article, linked in the first column.

Fee Price Revel prints What to know
DoorDash Marketplace integration DoorDash integration: $20 per month per establishment Revel adds no transaction or order fees; DoorDash drivers deliver these orders; needs Revel 2.79 or later
Enterprise Management System (EMS) EMS: an additional $29/month per establishment Pushes changes to chosen locations; the article was last updated in March 2022, so confirm the price on your quote
Next Day Funding Next Day Funding: $2.00 per batch The batch must close before 8:30 PM Eastern; without it, deposits follow a two-day schedule
PCI Non-Validation Fee PCI Non-Validation Fee: $74.95 on the monthly statement Applies if a new account does not finish its PCI questionnaire and scans within 60 to 90 days, or lets its yearly validation lapse
Out-of-date software Noncompliance fee: $79 USD monthly Your Revel Customer Agreement requires the current app version on every device to stay eligible for support
Chargeback arbitration Arbitration: about $500, depending on the card brand Paid by the side that loses, on top of the disputed amount; first-round chargeback fees are set in your contract

## Which fees does Revel name without a price?

Revel's [payment processing fees article](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Revel-Advantage-XT-Payment-Processing-Fees) lists the lines that can appear on a Revel Advantage statement and gives no amount for any of them. Ask for each one on your quote, or ask Revel to write "none" beside it.

- **Per card brand:** a discount rate and a per-item fee for Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
- **PIN debit fee** and a **network and processor access fee**, which Revel calls a card-brand pass-through.
- **Batch settlement fee**, **ACH return fee** and the **month-end billing** charge described below.
- **Account maintenance fee** (recurring) and **annual membership fee**.
- **Chargeback per occurrence** and a **transaction risk fee** on riskier payments, such as cards not present online or over the phone.
- **Safer Payments basic and managed** PCI services and a **semi-annual compliance and regulatory fee**.

Outside card processing, Revel names more paid items without a public price: [data plans](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Data-Access-changes) for reports older than one year, the Order Ready pickup screen, Revel Guard XT device management, Online Ordering XT and the Uber Eats add-on. Its [billing FAQ](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Billing-FAQ) says paying Revel's invoices by credit card adds an administration fee, which you avoid by paying by ACH, and that a bank's ACH rejection fee is passed on to you.

## How does Revel bill card processing?

Revel's [Revel Advantage page](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Revel-Advantage) describes two models. Flat rate charges the same cost on every payment. Interchange plus charges the card network's cost plus a set markup. Ask which one your quote uses.

You also choose how fees are collected, per the [billing options article](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Payment-Processing-Billing-Options-for-Revel-Advantage). Net-daily billing takes each day's fees out of that day's deposit at no extra charge. Month-end billing takes one debit at the start of the next month and adds an extra processing rate, which the article does not print. Revel says the extra rate pays for fronting your interchange during the month.

Deposits run on a two-day cycle, per the [deposit schedule](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Revel-Advantage-XT-Deposit-Schedule). A Monday sale batches at 4 AM Eastern on Tuesday and reaches your bank at 7 AM Eastern on Wednesday. Next Day Funding moves that up a day for the per-batch fee in the table above.

## What would a month on Revel cost? A worked example

Every input below is an assumption. A group runs three quick-service locations. Each uses EMS and DoorDash Marketplace, and takes Next Day Funding with one batch a day over a 30-day month. Each location takes $40,000 a month in card sales across 2,000 payments at $20 each. Revel prints no card rate, so the example uses a made-up flat rate of 2.6% + 10¢; replace it with your quote. The subscription and hardware lines stay blank because Revel prints no price for them.

    Line Assumed input Monthly cost
EMS 3 locations at $29 EMS line: $87.00
DoorDash Marketplace 3 locations at $20 DoorDash line: $60.00
Next Day Funding 3 locations, 30 batches each, at $2.00 Funding line: $180.00
Card processing $120,000 across 6,000 payments at an assumed 2.6% + 10¢ Processing line: $3,720.00
Subscription and hardware Not printed From your quote
Total Before subscription, hardware and unpriced statement lines Total: $4,047.00

The printed fees come to $327 a month, or $3,924 a year. Next Day Funding is $180 of that, or $2,160 a year, to get each deposit one day sooner. Card processing is 92% of the month shown. Each 0.1 point on the rate moves it by $120 a month, or $1,440 a year, and each 1¢ on the per-payment fee moves it by $60 a month.

The two penalty fees are avoidable. Missing PCI validation and running an old app would add $153.95 a month together, or $1,847.40 a year. Ask whether each applies per account or per location.

## What do Revel's public terms say?

Revel's help center refers to the Revel Customer Agreement and to supplemental Revel Advantage XT program terms without linking a public copy of either. Ask for both before you sign. The help center does describe these rules:

1. **Signing:** you sign an order form by DocuSign, then review your rates and fees and accept the terms in the Revel Advantage application, per the [onboarding guide](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Customer-Journey-Revel-Advantage-Onboarding). Review takes 5 to 7 business days.
2. **Cancelling:** the billing FAQ says to email Revel's cancellation notice address, and a client relations representative will contact you. It gives no notice period.
3. **Data after you leave:** the same FAQ says fees may apply to reach your data after you cancel. Reports stay open for one year, and renewing does not reset that clock, per the data access article.
4. **Hardware:** Revel covers only the first year of each maker's warranty, per its [warranty table](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Hardware-Manufacturer-Warranty-1582902925055). After that, you deal with the maker.
5. **Selling the business:** the new owner signs a new agreement, per the [operations FAQ](https://support.revelsystems.com/s/article/Operations-FAQ).
6. **Disputes after closing:** the chargeback FAQ says guests can dispute a payment for up to 270 days, or 540 days for goods paid ahead of delivery, and that Revel counts the last 270 days of your volume as its maximum exposure when an account closes.

## What should you get in writing before you sign?

1. The subscription price per location and what it includes: kitchen screens, kiosk, Online Ordering XT, Delivery XT and Revel Guard XT.
2. Hardware prices, whether you buy or finance, and who repairs it after the first year.
3. Your pricing model and every rate, including typed-in phone orders and American Express, and whether the transaction risk fee applies to phone orders.
4. Each statement line in the list above, with an amount or "none".
5. Net-daily billing, set from day one.
6. The term, how it renews, the notice date, and what you owe if you close in month 12.
7. How many years of report data the price includes.

To set these costs beside systems that print their prices, see [what a restaurant POS costs](https://maple.inc/blog/restaurant-pos-cost) and our [guide to choosing a restaurant POS](https://maple.inc/blog/best-pos-system-for-restaurants). If you take phone orders, note that Maple Pro writes phone orders into the POS systems on [Maple's integrations page](https://maple.inc/integrations), and Revel is not on that list.

*Published by Maple. This AI-assisted guide combines Revel's public help-center articles on fees, billing, deposits and terms, and Shift4's press release on the purchase, with an original worked example using assumed sales, an assumed card rate and assumed location counts. It does not include a quote from Revel or Shift4, and it does not claim anyone tested Revel.*
