What SpotOn Order does, the two prices SpotOn prints for it, DoorDash Drive fees, setup steps from SpotOn's help center, and what to test first.

SpotOn Order is SpotOn's commission-free ordering page for restaurants on SpotOn POS, with the GoTo Place app and Order with Google included. SpotOn's [online ordering page](https://www.spoton.com/solutions/online-ordering-and-delivery/) prices it at $55 a month per location, and its FAQ adds a $200 setup fee. DoorDash and Uber Eats integrations cost $25 a month each.

SpotOn also sells SpotOn Order inside its Core Bundle. The [pricing page](https://www.spoton.com/pricing/) lists the bundle at $50 a month plus 0.20% of monthly processing volume, with that 0.20% part capped at $200, and adds Profit Assist and Marketing Assist.

Our [SpotOn POS review](https://maple.inc/blog/spoton-pos-review) covers the POS plans, card rates and contract. This page covers only online ordering: which of the two prices fits, what delivery costs, how setup works in SpotOn's back office, and what happens when a guest calls about an online order.

## What does SpotOn Order do?

SpotOn's online ordering page lists what comes with SpotOn Order: an ordering menu page, the GoTo Place app, Order with Google, ordering analytics and a DoorDash Drive integration. Its FAQ adds QR codes that open the online menu inside the restaurant, and says Grubhub, Postmates and other apps connect through Deliverect.

SpotOn launched GoTo Place in a [June 2025 announcement](https://www.spoton.com/blog/goto-place-restaurant-first-app/). It is an app under the restaurant's brand for ordering, loyalty and the waitlist, and SpotOn says it is included for restaurants using SpotOn Order. In [August 2025](https://www.spoton.com/blog/spoton-redefines-online-ordering/) SpotOn added Picked for You, which suggests items to each guest from signals such as time of day and order history.

Inside the POS, the help center covers the controls a kitchen needs: order [pacing](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/1792245867/Pacing+%7C+SpotOn+Order) by order count or dollar amount, a pause button on the front-of-house screen, lead times you can change during service, and settings that hide an item from your own ordering page, from third-party apps, or both.

## What does SpotOn Order cost?

    Charge What SpotOn prints
SpotOn Order on its own SpotOn Order: $55/month per location, plus a $200 setup fee
Core Bundle (SpotOn Order, GoTo Place, Profit Assist, Marketing Assist) Core Bundle: $50/month plus 0.20% of monthly processing volume, with the 0.20% part capped at $200
DoorDash or Uber Eats marketplace integration Marketplace add-on: $25/month each, added to SpotOn POS
DoorDash Drive delivery DoorDash Drive: $7.95 per completed delivery plus the driver's tip, billed to the restaurant
Card payments on online orders The pricing page lists card-present and keyed rates for each plan. It does not say which one applies to SpotOn Order payments.

The DoorDash Drive figures come from SpotOn's [DoorDash Drive FAQ](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/1132069722/SpotOn+Delivery+Powered+by+DoorDash+Drive+FAQ+%7C+SpotOn+Order). Guests do not see that fee. SpotOn bills the day's delivery fees and driver tips every 24 hours, and suggests you cover the cost with your own delivery fee or an order minimum.

The Core Bundle charge grows with all your card sales. SpotOn's pricing FAQ gives the formula as monthly processing volume times 0.20%, up to $200, plus $50. At $2,500 a month in card sales the bundle costs $55, the same as SpotOn Order alone. Above that it costs more, reaching its top price of $250 at $100,000 a month. Compare the two on whether you would use Profit Assist and Marketing Assist.

## What does a month cost? A worked example

Every input here is made up. One location takes $60,000 a month in card sales across all channels. Couriers from DoorDash Drive make 80 deliveries, and the restaurant charges guests a $4.95 delivery fee. Card fees, driver tips and marketplace add-ons are left out.

Line SpotOn Order alone Core Bundle
  Software SpotOn Order software: $55 Core Bundle software: $50 + (0.20% × $60,000 = $120) = $170
  DoorDash Drive fees Drive fees: 80 × $7.95 = $636 Same Drive fees: $636
Delivery fees guests pay Guest fees: 80 × $4.95 = $396 back Same guest fees: $396 back
  Month total SpotOn Order month: $55 + $636 − $396 = $295 Core Bundle month: $170 + $636 − $396 = $410
One-time SpotOn Order setup: $200 No setup fee printed for the bundle

At these numbers each delivery costs the restaurant $3.00 after the guest fee ($7.95 − $4.95). A guest fee of $7.95 would cover the courier in full, before tips. Our [guide to commission-free ordering fees](https://maple.inc/blog/commission-free-online-ordering) runs the same kind of month for Square, ChowNow, Owner.com and Menufy.

## How do you set up SpotOn Order?

These steps follow SpotOn's help center for SpotOn Restaurant POS. SpotOn Express, its counter-service system, has its own articles and sets up online ordering from the SpotOn Dashboard.

1. **Order types.** In the back office, [create two order types](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/893124813/Order+Types+%7C+SpotOn+Order): SpotOn Order-Pickup, attached to a customer, and SpotOn Order-Delivery, attached to a customer address, with any automatic surcharge such as a delivery fee. Dine-in uses your existing Dine In type.
2. **Lead times.** Under Locations, pick those order types and enter pickup and delivery lead times in minutes, from 1 to 999. Delivery lead time should include the drive.
3. **Delivery area.** Drag the boundary on the map, and draw exclusion areas for places you will not deliver.
4. **Schedule.** The [general settings guide](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/953614398/General+Settings+%7C+SpotOn+Order) says to set online hours in both the Dashboard's business hours and the back office location schedule. Updating one of them leaves setup incomplete.
5. **Menu.** Tick Exclude From Online Ordering or Exclude From Third-Party Ordering on items that stay in-store, such as alcohol. Open-priced items do not appear online.
6. **Setup checklist.** Open the checklist under Locations and fix every unchecked item until it reads Ready. Until then, guests see "Online ordering not available."
7. **Link and branding.** In the Dashboard's Online Ordering tab, copy your link, use the QR code on menus and signs, and add a Meta or Google tracking pixel if you use one.
8. **DoorDash Drive.** Create a separate DoorDash order type and select it in the SpotOn Order settings. SpotOn supports one delivery method per restaurant, and DoorDash overrides your own drivers if both are on.

## What should you test before you share the link?

1. Order an item from each station with modifiers and an item note. Grab-and-go items that skip the kitchen at the counter may need SpotOn's [print-only-online routing](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/2025030598/Print+Only+When+Ordered+Online+%7C+SpotOn+Restaurant+(RPOS)) to print for online orders.
2. Set a pace and go past it. SpotOn says the site keeps taking orders and shows guests a longer lead time. Pacing does not cover DoorDash Marketplace or Uber Eats orders.
3. Set a maximum dollar amount per order and place a larger one. SpotOn says the guest is told to contact the restaurant.
4. Pause online ordering from the front of house and check that the green banner appears. Orders placed before the pause still come through.
5. Exclude an item and check it disappears from your page and from each delivery app.
6. Send a DoorDash Drive order. The POS should show the driver's name and phone and the pickup time. To print it straight away, match Default Minutes Before to Release to your DoorDash lead time.
7. Refund a test order in the Virtual Terminal. SpotOn's [refund guide](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/2090532897/Refunds+%26+Voids+(via+Virtual+Terminal)+%7C+SpotOn+Order) says only SpotOn Order transactions can be refunded there, and voids made there do not show in the Reporting Site.

## What happens to phone orders?

Guests call when an online order goes wrong. SpotOn's general settings guide says staff cannot add a charge to an online order once it is placed and paid, and that removing the payment from a completed order can lose the sale. Its DoorDash Drive FAQ says an item added by phone must be rung as a separate transaction and put in the bag for the driver to pick up. Tell whoever answers the phone both rules.

Large orders also come back to the phone if you set a maximum order amount in pacing. New phone orders go into the POS as before. For delivery, staff [change the order type to Delivery](https://help.spoton.com/space/SK/2660991127/Create+Delivery+Order+%26+Attach+Customer+to+Order) and attach the customer's address.

If calls at the rush are the gap, Maple Pro answers the phone and takes orders into supported POS systems, and SpotOn is on Maple's integrations list. The [Maple SpotOn page](https://maple.inc/integrations/spoton) is the place to start, and our [phone handoff checklist](https://maple.inc/blog/restaurant-phone-handoff-checklist) covers the calls staff still need to handle.

## What should you ask SpotOn before you sign?

1. Which card rate applies to SpotOn Order payments on your plan: card-present or keyed?
2. Is SpotOn Order alone or the Core Bundle cheaper at your card sales, and would you use the extra tools?
3. Is there a setup fee or a term on the Core Bundle?
4. What does DoorDash Drive charge per delivery where you are, and how far will it deliver? The FAQ lists 10 miles, with shorter limits in some large cities.
5. Can you run your own drivers and DoorDash Drive on different days, given the one-method rule?
6. Which help articles apply to your system, Restaurant POS or Express?
