# Maple Kiosk — a self-order kiosk guests can talk to

Maple's kiosk is a self-order kiosk guests talk to. It is in early access with a small number of restaurants.

## How it works

1. **Maple supplies the kiosk.** The restaurant pairs it to the store with one code, and the menu comes across from the POS.
2. **The guest talks.** A microphone built to pick out the guest in front hears the order. Maple takes it item by item, with every modifier, and skips items that are out of stock. It takes orders in many languages.
3. **The cart builds on screen.** Guests see each item and the total as they speak, so they fix mistakes before they pay.
4. **The ticket goes to the kitchen.** Maple writes the order into the restaurant's POS (Toast, Square, Clover, SkyTab, Lightspeed and others on the integrations page).
5. **Staff help is one tap away.** Every screen has a staff-help button, and the restaurant can turn Maple off on any kiosk with one tap.
