Which POS Systems Work With an AI Phone Agent? (2026)
Maple's AI phone agent writes orders into Toast, Square, Clover, SkyTab, Lightspeed, OpenTable and more. The full 2026 list, what syncs, and what to ask before you buy.
An AI phone agent is only worth having if the orders it takes land in the system your kitchen already watches. If the agent takes an order and a staff member has to retype it, you have added a step instead of removing one. This guide lists every point-of-sale and reservation system Maple connects to in 2026, explains what actually syncs, and gives you the questions to ask any vendor before you sign.
Which POS systems does Maple work with?
Maple connects to Toast, Square, Clover, SkyTab by Shift4, Lightspeed, Linga, Chowbus, NCR Aloha, NCR Voyix, Oracle Simphony, SpotOn, OrderCounter, Quantic, Smile, Stream Orders and Tray. For reservations, Maple connects to OpenTable. Orders taken over the phone are written into the POS directly, so they reach the kitchen the same way an order rung in at the counter does.
Each system has its own page with the specifics:
- Maple and Toast
- Maple and Square
- Maple and Clover
- Maple and SkyTab (Shift4)
- Maple and Lightspeed
- Maple and Linga
- Maple and Chowbus
- Maple and NCR Aloha
- Maple and NCR Voyix

The full list lives on the integrations page.
Does an AI phone agent integrate with Toast POS?
Yes. Maple connects directly to Toast. A caller orders over the phone, Maple reads the live Toast menu, handles modifiers and allergen notes, and sends the finished ticket into Toast so it prints and fires like any other order. Nobody retypes anything.
Toast is the most common system we are asked about, and the reason is simple: a restaurant running Toast has already standardised on one place where orders live. An AI phone agent that cannot write there is a second system to reconcile at close. See Maple and Toast for the detail.
What AI phone agent works with Clover POS?
Maple works with Clover. Phone orders are placed into Clover with the same menu, modifiers and pricing your staff use in the shop, and order confirmation texts go out to the caller. Read more on the Clover integration page.
What AI phone agent works with Square POS?
Maple works with Square. The menu stays in sync, so a Square item you eighty-six mid-service stops being offered on the phone. Orders land in Square for pickup or delivery. Read more on the Square integration page.
Can an AI phone agent book reservations on OpenTable?
Yes. Maple creates, modifies and cancels reservations on OpenTable over the phone, including reminders, deposits and card holds where you use them. A caller who rings during service to move a table from seven to eight o'clock gets it done without tying up your host stand.
Reservations and orders are separate modules at Maple, so a restaurant that only wants the phone answered for bookings does not pay for order-taking. See Maple and OpenTable and the pricing page.
What actually syncs, and what does not
The word "integration" covers a wide range, so it pays to be specific. With Maple the two-way sync covers the things that change during service:
- Menu and pricing read from the POS in real time, so the agent never quotes a price you no longer charge.
- Item availability, so a sold-out dish is not offered on the phone.
- Modifiers, allergens and preferences captured on the call and attached to the ticket.
- Completed orders written into the POS for pickup, takeout or delivery.
- Payment taken securely over the phone where you want it.
- Reservations created, changed and cancelled on the reservation system.
What an AI phone agent should not do is invent a workflow your staff have to learn. If a caller needs a person, Maple transfers the call.
Five questions to ask before you buy
- Does it write into my POS, or does it email me the order? An emailed order is not an integration.
- Does the menu sync live? A menu that syncs nightly will quote yesterday's prices during today's rush.
- What happens at peak? Ask whether call volume is capped. Maple answers every call at once, with unlimited minutes and no per-minute fees.
- What does it cost when we are busy? Per-minute pricing punishes you for the exact months you want the phone answered.
- Can it hand off to a human? Some calls should reach a person, and the agent should know which.
What if my POS is not on the list?
Custom integrations are available, and the integrations add-on runs from nothing to fifty dollars a month depending on what your stack needs. If you are on a system not named above, ask. The list has grown steadily, most recently through Maple's partnership with Shift4 to bring AI phone ordering to SkyTab restaurants.
Frequently asked questions
Does Maple work with more than one POS at a time?
Multi-location groups often run different systems in different sites. Maple is configured per location, so a group running Toast in one restaurant and SpotOn in another can use Maple in both.
How long does the integration take to set up?
Setup is handled for you as part of onboarding, including the menu import and the phone number routing. White-glove support is included in the base plan.
Does the AI agent handle delivery and takeout orders?
Yes. The orders module covers delivery and takeout, sends order confirmation texts, and upsells during the call.
What does it cost?
Maple Voice starts at one hundred and twenty dollars a month for 24/7 answering. The orders module and the bookings module are eighty dollars a month each, and native integrations run from nothing to fifty dollars a month. There are no per-minute fees and no contracts. See pricing for the full breakdown, or read how much an AI answering service for restaurants costs.
What if the agent gets an order wrong?
Every call is recorded and transcribed, so you can hear exactly what was said. You can listen to real Maple calls before you commit, and the first month carries a money-back guarantee.
Next step
The fastest way to judge an AI phone agent is to hear one work. Listen to real calls, read what restaurants using Maple say on the customers page, then book a demo and bring your POS with you.
